These terms cover registering as a patient and receiving treatment at The Medical Skin Clinic, using this website, and purchasing skincare products through our online shop. Please read them before registering or placing an order, and contact us if anything is unclear.
1. About us
NewMed Healthcare Ltd (trading as The Medical Skin Clinic and MedHub), company registration number 08966527. Registered address: Ground Floor, The Maltings, Locks Hill, Rochford, England, SS4 1BB. Clinic address: 30 High Street, Newmarket, Suffolk, CB8 8LB.
The Medical Skin Clinic is registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC). All treatments are performed by registered medical professionals — doctors, nurse prescribers and dentists.
2. New patient registration
New patients are registered with the following minimum information: first name, surname, date of birth, gender, email address and telephone number.
All new registrations will be sent a Medical Assessment Form, which should be completed before the initial consultation. Patients will be given the option to receive marketing information, which is entirely optional.
Patients requesting botulinum toxin treatment require a face-to-face assessment before treatment can be prescribed, meaning on-the-day treatment is not available at a first appointment.
3. Bookings, booking fees and cancellations
Appointments may be booked via the website, by telephone or by email. A £50 booking fee is required to secure an appointment; this is refunded once the appointment has been attended, or may be offset against the cost of treatment or products.
If you need to cancel or move an appointment, please give at least 48 hours' notice. Failure to give suitable notice may result in the booking fee being forfeited — this is so we can offer the appointment to other patients.
Occasionally we may need to move bookings due to staff sickness or clinical reasons; our team will contact you with as much notice as possible.
4. Assessment and treatment
It is the responsibility of the patient to truthfully disclose all medical information to the practitioner. Many treatments can have adverse effects in the presence of medical conditions, previous surgery, pregnancy and breastfeeding, medications, vaccinations, current illness, supplements or recreational substances.
Patients are assessed by a clinician in order to make appropriate treatment recommendations. Clinicians reserve the right to recommend no treatment, or to decline a treatment requested by the patient, where it is not in the patient's best interests.
Patients are required to read and sign a consent form for each treatment. It is the patient's responsibility to ensure they have fully understood the consent form and to ask the clinician for clarification where needed.
Whilst our clinicians take all appropriate precautions, no medical or aesthetic procedure is entirely without risk, and outcomes cannot be guaranteed. Complications resulting from treatment may require additional treatment to improve or resolve, and the patient is liable for any additional costs involved except where agreed otherwise at the Director's discretion.
Refunds are not offered where treatment has been received. If a treatment has not met your expectations or you have experienced a complication, please see our Complaints Procedure — we will always work with you towards a resolution.
5. Online shop — ordering and payment
Our online shop sells professional skincare products. Orders are processed through our secure Shopify checkout, and payment is taken at the time of ordering. All prices are shown in pounds sterling and include VAT where applicable.
Certain products are professional-use ranges (for example ZO Skin Health and Obagi Medical). For these products a short consultation form must be completed so a clinician can confirm the product is suitable for your skin; we may contact you before dispatch, and we reserve the right to refund and cancel an order where a product is not clinically appropriate.
Prescription-only medicines (for example products containing tretinoin or prescription-strength retinoids) cannot be purchased online. These require a consultation with one of our prescribers, and are supplied against a private prescription.
By placing an order you confirm that the products are for your own personal use and not for resale. As an authorised ZO Skin Health and Obagi Medical stockist we are unable to supply trade or resale quantities.
6. Online shop — delivery, cancellation and returns
Orders are dispatched from our Newmarket clinic, typically within 2–3 working days. You may also choose to collect your order from the clinic free of charge.
Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 you have the right to cancel an online order within 14 days of receiving your goods, and a further 14 days to return them, for a full refund of the goods. To cancel, contact reception@medicalskinclinic.co.uk with your order details.
For hygiene and safety reasons, this cancellation right does not apply to products that have been unsealed or opened after delivery, or to medicinal products dispensed against a prescription. Returned items must be unused, unopened and in their original sealed packaging.
If a product arrives damaged or faulty, or is not as described, you are entitled to a repair, replacement or refund under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 — contact us and we will put it right.
7. Website terms of use
The content of this website is provided for general information only. It is not medical advice, and it should not be relied upon as a substitute for a consultation with a qualified medical professional. Always seek personalised advice before starting, changing or stopping any treatment.
All content on this website — including text, graphics, logos and images — is owned by or licensed to NewMed Healthcare Ltd and may not be reproduced without our written permission. Third-party trade marks (including ZO Skin Health, Obagi Medical, Aviva and WPA) belong to their respective owners.
We take reasonable care to keep the information on this website accurate and up to date, but we make no warranties as to its completeness or accuracy, and we may change content and prices at any time. Links to external websites are provided for convenience; we are not responsible for their content.
8. Model opportunities
Occasionally the clinic may offer the opportunity to sit as a model for a treatment, at a reduced rate or free of charge, subject to conditions. Models must give full consent for before-and-after images to be used publicly for advertising and marketing across any platform. Models should understand that in a training environment complication rates may be higher, and that students receive verbal instruction during procedures. All usual consent terms apply, and model treatments are subject to confidentiality regarding other patients and pricing overheard in clinic.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer or as a patient.
